An anti-government rally in the center of Prague gathered 70,000 people.
In the Czech Republic, in Prague, on Saturday afternoon, September 3, about 70 thousand people came to an anti-government rally on Wenceslas Square. In their hands they held the flags of the Czech Republic, Russia.
The protest action called "Czech Republic First" (Česká republika na prvním místě) started at 14:00. Some carried posters against the EU, NATO, Prime Minister Petr Fiala, the Green Deal for Europe and the government's refusal to cooperate with Russia. At the same time, the activists accused the government of the country of an excessive pro-Ukrainian position and demanded that their representatives negotiate with the Russian Federation on gas and oil.
They also demanded to stop sending weapons to Ukraine, they wanted tax cuts and the lifting of anti-Russian sanctions.
The police noted that the meeting was peaceful and law enforcement officers did not have to use force.
In turn, the Czech government said that the rally was organized by pro-Russian propagandists. They also noted that such a mood among the Czechs does not play into the hands of all the inhabitants of the country and is detrimental to the Czech Republic.
