The prosecutor's office identified the Russian military suspected of murders near Kyiv

Nikolai Sergeevich Sokovikov is suspected of the crime.
According to the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, this is a senior lieutenant of the 5th separate guards tank Tatsinskaya Red Banner Order of Suvorov, 2nd degree, brigade of the armed forces of the Russian Federation. The serviceman was charged in absentia with violating the laws and customs of war, as well as with premeditated murder.
Sokovikov was identified from the records from the surveillance cameras of one of the enterprises. The footage was circulated by CNN and the BBC in May. The video, dated March 16, shows soldiers shooting two unarmed people in the back after having a casual conversation with them.
According to the investigation, in March 2022, five Russian servicemen in a car with the letter “V” and the inscription “Tank special forces RUS” arrived at an enterprise near the village of Mechta, Buchansky district, Kyiv region.
At present, two unarmed civilians have come out to the invaders - the owner and the security guard of this enterprise. The invaders, convinced that these people did not pose any threat to them, allowed them to leave. However, as soon as they moved a few meters away, the suspect, along with an unidentified soldier, treacherously opened fire with automatic weapons at the backs of civilians. The men died from at least 12 gunshot wounds, the Office of the Prosecutor General informed.
