Moscow announces "point of no return" if Russia is recognized as state sponsor of terrorism

Moscow threatens Washington with a "point of no return" if Russia is recognized as a country sponsoring terrorism. In particular, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that after that they could lower the diplomatic degree or even break off diplomatic relations with the United States. This was stated in an interview with TASS by the director of the North America Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Darchiev.

This will mean that Washington has crossed the point of no return, with the most serious collateral damage to bilateral diplomatic relations, down to their downgrading and even rupture. The American side has been warned,” he said in an interview with TASS.

He described the general situation in relations between the two countries as "turbulent", while noting that Western states, led by the United States, "trampled international law and absolute taboos in diplomatic practice."

We note that getting into the list of countries that sponsor terrorism means strict restrictions on interaction with this state, a ban on the export of defense goods, control over the export of dual-use products, financial and other restrictions. Also in this case, significant restrictions await the countries that maintain one or another relationship with the sponsors of terrorism.

Now the list of sponsors of terrorism in the United States includes four countries - Iran, North Korea, Cuba and Syria.

It is known that on July 27 the Senate of the US Congress adopted a resolution calling on the State Department to recognize the Russian Federation as a state sponsor of terrorism. The reason for the decision was Russia's aggression against Chechnya, Georgia, Syria and Ukraine.
