Number of meals cooked for IDPs counted in Lutsk

More than 15 thousand internally displaced persons have registered in Lutsk, but their number is growing daily.
Since the beginning of the war, more than 180,000 hot meals have been prepared for refugees fleeing shelling and occupation in Lutsk. This is reported by " Volyn News ".
As the mayor of Lutsk Igor Polishchuk said, people eat in four social canteens of the city's educational institutions: gymnasium No. 4 named after Modest Levitsky, 9th, 24th and 26th schools.
At first, one canteen was opened, but in the very first days so many visitors came that we had to adapt 3 more rooms; every day we provide hot meals to about 2.5 thousand people. Today there are fights, and also those people who came here earlier are running out of money, and they have to eat for something, that's why we started this program in order to help people and provide them with the most necessary things, he said.
According to him, more than 15,000 internally displaced persons have registered in Lutsk, but their number is growing.
Igor Polishchuk noted that in order to get hot meals in one of the city's social canteens, the migrants should apply to the department of social policy. There they are registered and issued the appropriate coupons. For details, call: (0332) 281 000.
We invite internally displaced persons to use the services of our social canteens. We specifically opened them in different neighborhoods to ensure appropriate logistics so that people do not get to the canteen through the whole city,” Polishchuk added.
We add that since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the Volyn region has received and provided for more than 61 thousand internally displaced persons.
