According to internal rules, no electrical cables can be put into the containers where refugees live for fire safety reasons

At the Neuer Bergstrasse refugee shelter in Germany, where about 250 people are accommodated, a conflict broke out between a Ukrainian woman and the guards of the town, Bild reports.

The girl Polina, who is a law student at a university in Ukraine and who is studying remotely, pulled an extension cord into her container because there was no WiFi working in the special room, which is meant for studying

After she had done that, a man and a woman, the campus security guards entered her accommodation. They tried to take the cable and the charging cord from the computer. The girl would not give them back:

I put them under the blanket, lay down on top and said they were personal belongings

According to the Ukrainian refugee, the staff of the accommodation centre then grabbed her arm and pulled her clothes. The Ukrainian says she sustained an injury to her shoulder and also developed fear

Since then I have been afraid to live in that place

According to the internal rules, no electrical cables can be pulled into the containers where the refugees are living for fire safety reasons

The Migration Advisory Board stressed that this is not the first complaint from the Neuer Bergstrasse site. Many refugees feel discriminated against there, according to the organisation.

The reception centre said "very sorry" for what had happened, but Pauline soon received a letter from the administration, not with an apology but with a warning against such behaviour
