A Russian fighter jet crashed in the Belgorod region
Preliminarily, the plane went down on the outskirts of the village of Orekhovo.

The Russian official said that a plane of the Russian Defence Ministry had crashed in the region. However, he said nothing about casualties or damage.
According to preliminary information, the plane went down on the outskirts of the village of Orekhovo.
Later, the Russian Defence Ministry issued a confirmation of the incident. It said that a Russian Air Force Su-25 attack aircraft had crashed, with the pilot killed.
In addition, they said that the crash happened while returning to the airfield, after completing a combat mission. The cause was named as "a technical malfunction".
