The fiercest fighting on the front continues in the Donetsk direction.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have managed to advance up to 1,400m in different areas in the Bakhmut direction in Donetsk Region. This was reported by the speaker of the eastern grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhiy Cherevaty, in an information telethon.

According to him, the Ukrainian defence forces are striking at the enemy, going on the offensive, taking advantage of the fact that the Russians are conducting rotations, replacing their units with newcomers.

Meanwhile, the enemy has carried out eight airstrikes on the Ukrainian military, and carried out some 330 shelling with barrel and rocket artillery.

A total of six skirmishes took place, in the course of which our Defence Forces destroyed 138 occupants, 236 were wounded, and one was taken prisoner," Cherevaty added.

He also reported that on the Bakhmutiv direction, Ukrainian troops destroyed a Gvozdika self-propelled artillery piece belonging to the Russians, three armoured vehicles, a D-30 howitzer, a C-60 anti-aircraft gun, a ZALA drone, eight ammunition depots and seven vehicles that had been delivering ammunition and weapons.

Cherevaty said that the enemy tried to attack the Ukrainian positions several times, but without success.

He stressed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to take advantage of their positions and were now inflicting maximum damage on the enemy. He also stressed that the AFU command knows all the enemy's weaknesses in this direction and makes the most of them.

We have experienced commanders who know this terrain, they have fought in it since 2014, and they do everything possible to take such positions and hit the enemy from them," Cherevaty said.
