Ukraine is fighting for European values, says Ursula von der Leyen.
Ukraine must win the war against Russia to protect European values, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has said, Reuters has said.
She said that Kiev would continue to receive unconditional military, financial and humanitarian support from the European Union.
We are standing with Ukraine without any ifs or buts," Ursula von der Leyen said in a speech Saturday, January 28, at an event of her party, the CDU, in Dusseldorf, Germany.
She stressed that Ukraine is "fighting for our common values, fighting to uphold international law and the principles of democracy, so Ukraine must win this war.
The statement was made ahead of the EU-Ukraine summit scheduled for 3 February.
