Trump gave a disappointing prognosis for the end of Russian Federation's war on Ukraine

US President Donald Trump said that the end of Russia's war against Ukraine will not be quick and will require a significant amount of time. He said this in an interview with the YouTube channel Pod Force One with Miranda Devine.

According to Trump, it seemed to him that after "great conversations" with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, the conflict was stopped, but soon after these contacts, "very bad things" began to happen. He said that Ukraine was "like the apple of Putin's eye" and that the Russian leader had hoped for a quick victory, but found himself embroiled in a protracted war that has lasted for more than three years.

The American president added that, according to his figures, both sides are losing 5,000 to 6,000 soldiers every week, and behind those numbers are lives, families, loved ones.

I don't like to think so, but all of this could easily be resolved - and it will take a lot more time," Trump admitted.

He also said that the cost of US weapons for Ukraine has now been largely shifted to Europe, and called it a "good deal" with NATO.

Earlier, Trump claimed he was capable of ending the war in 24 hours, but later clarified that the statement was "a little sarcastic." He later admitted that he would not be able to stop the conflict quickly, including because of Putin's difficulty as a negotiator and problems in his relationship with Vladimir Zelensky.
