There was a leak on the Druzhba oil pipeline in Poland

The reasons for the leak are still unknown.
This is stated in the statement of the Polish operator PERN.
Late Tuesday evening, PERN's automation systems detected a leak in the Druzhba pipeline on one of the two strings of the western section of the pipeline, about 70 kilometers from Plock. This is the main route by which crude oil enters Germany. At the moment, the causes of the incident are unknown - the pressure in the damaged thread was immediately turned off. The second line of the conveyor works without changes, — is spoken in the statement.
PERN rescuers and the State Fire Service went to the leak site to assess the situation, as well as to protect the territory and rescue work.
Polish services are already eliminating the consequences. An oil slick of 1,000 square meters formed on the spot. 400 cubic meters of oil have already been collected.
The cleanup operation could take another dozen hours, firefighters say.
The cause of the leak in the Druzhba pipeline is under investigation. At the moment there is no reason to talk about the causes of the accident. All hypotheses are possible. This incident did not affect the energy security of the Republic of Poland, wrote Stanislav Zharin, Commissioner for Information Space Security of the Republic of Poland, on his Twitter on Wednesday.
The pipeline itself was built to transport oil from Russia to the countries of Central and Western Europe. Construction began in 1960, and four years later, the launch ceremony of the highway took place.
The route of the oil pipeline runs from Almetievsk through Samara, Bryansk (Russia) to Mozyr (Belarus), where it branches into two branches: northern (Belarus, Poland and Germany) and southern (Ukraine, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary).
The southern branch of the Druzhba pipeline passing through the territory of Ukraine delivered oil to European refineries in Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
