After New York, London and Paris, the stage is set for Milan, which traditionally showcases the most expressive street fashion looks.
The Italian Spring-Summer 2026 Fashion Week confirmed its status as a source of bold yet practical ideas for everyday wardrobe, Elle writes.
Both bold combinations and minimalist ensembles could be found on the streets of the city. Fashionistas combined animalistic prints with bright accents, relied on expressive skirts and simultaneously experimented with simple shapes and neutral colours.
Fiery red as a new base
The most noticeable accent of the season is a bright red shade reminiscent of the colour of a fire engine. It appeared in a variety of wardrobe elements: long suede coats, boots, shirts and bags. Italian fashion-girls proved that this colour can be considered the new "neutral", which goes with almost everything and makes the image bright in seconds.

Skirts that catch the eye
The skirt is once again becoming a wardrobe staple. In Milan, it was shown as an accent in its own right. Even the most daring designer models were worn in combination with simple voluminous jumpers or textured tops. Such a duo looks stylish and comfortable at the same time, which makes the skirt indispensable for the off-season.
Lacein a new reading
Lace has long been a fashion staple, but this season it was given a new twist. Light lace skirts were paired with velvet jackets and leather bomber jackets, while accessories like lace collars and appliqués gave outfits a romantic accent. This trend added softness and femininity to even the strictest looks.

Minimalism and leather
Leather is an essential part of fashion, but this time the focus shifted from rough biker jackets to more refined versions. Sharp leather jackets, pencil skirts and A-silhouettes provided an elegant alternative to rocker style. Minimalism was emphasised by strict lines and a lack of unnecessary details.
Milan's fashionistas proved that workwear can be fashionable too. Work jackets and chore coats became unexpectedly sophisticated, especially when combined with classic trousers and feminine accessories.
