The House of Moscow will be nationalised in Riga


The nationalisation of the House of Moscow, which is a symbol of Russian policy, will eliminate the threat to Latvia's national security and statehood.
On 11 January, the Latvian Saeima adopted a decision on the process of transferring theHouse of Moscow in Riga to state ownership. This was reported by Delfi on 11 January.
It is noted that under the guise of cultural events and hobby education in the "House of Moscow" were held political events that threaten national security.

The government will determine the further fate of the building by 31 March, and it is possible that the property will be sold at auction.
70 MPs voted in favour, 11 MPs voted against, and 9 MPs abstained.
Consideration of the bill was initiated by the Seimas National Security Commission, headed by MP Ainar Latkovskis from the New Unity party.
Since 10 March 2020, the rights to the building belong to the unitary enterprise of the city of Moscow "Moscow Centre for International Cooperation".
