Russian Federation plans to seize lithium deposit near Kurakhovo - adviser to Mariupol mayor

The Shevchenkivske lithium deposit is located in the Ukrainian-controlled territory of Donetsk Region.
Representatives of Rosatom are applying to the Russian Natural Resources Ministry for a licence to develop the Shevchenkivskyy lithium deposit, which is located in the Ukrainian-controlled territory near Kurakhove in Donetsk Region. This was reported by the adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, Petro Andryushchenko, on 11 January.
He said that in Donetsk last week, representatives of Atomredmetzoloto agreed the authorisation documents for lithium mining in the so-called "Cabinet of Ministers of the DNR".
Now, based on these documents, they are applying to the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources for the relevant licence.
This would not be such news (well, typical state looting of resources again), if it were not for one BUT. The Shevchenkivske lithium deposit is located in the Ukrainian-controlled territory of Donetsk region," Andryushchenko emphasised.
The deposit is located a few kilometres from Kurakhovo in the direction of Dnipropetrovsk region.
Therefore, the Russians have no plans to stop or end the war," the mayor's advisor resumed.
He noted that the "pro-Russian community" in Ukraine should think about the fact that the Russian Federation is actually fighting for Ukrainian resources.
