Russians continue to mobilise for war against Ukraine.

Every month in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, the invaders recruit about 20,000 people into their army. This was stated by a representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry, Andriy Yusov, in an interview with Espresso.

At the same time, he emphasised that we are not talking about volunteers. According to him, the Russian command widely practices "forced signing of a contract" with former servicemen.

This is recruiting among prisoners, debtors, some unreliable categories of the population. Recruitment, including with the motivation of financial payment or, if a person does not sign a contract, some kind of sanctions are promised," Yusov pointed out.

He also noted that the occupiers widely practice calls to "military commissions" ostensibly for data verification.

They put the contract and in principle the person does not go back, otherwise he is threatened with some criminal prosecution or other problems in life. And that's how some of them end up at the front," Yusov explained.

In addition, Yusov added that the Kremlin prefers hidden mobilisation and avoids mass involvement of the population of the European part of the Russian Federation in combat operations because it is afraid of rebellion. At the same time, the Russian Federation plans to recruit up to 700,000 new soldiers for the war with Ukraine.
