Analysts have counted the equipment that Russia stores in the open air

Their existing stock of armoured vehicles might even be enough for 1-2 years of fighting at the pace and scale they are now.
The Russians have managed to accumulate thousands of pieces of military equipment that could potentially be used at the front. This is evidenced by satellite images analysed by OSINT analyst High Marsed in his Twitter profile.
He pointed out that Russia has a total of about 8,917 units of light armoured vehicles (BTR-60/70, BRDM-2 and MT-LB) in storage, including 3,677 BMPs.
We are talking only about those vehicles that are stored in the open air and can be easily counted. It is unknown how many armoured vehicles Russia has in storage in closed hangars," he said.
At the same time, he notes that the images he looked at are quite old - 2022 and even 2021.
That is, they could have become outdated because the Russians could have taken some of the vehicles from there to send to the front," the report notes.
He adds that the publication The Military Balance counted approximately 11 thousand armoured vehicles of all types in storage in Russia, including 4 thousand BTR-60/70, 4 thousand BMP-1/2, 2 thousand MT-LB and 1 thousand BRDM-2.

In its turn, the Ukrainian publication Defense Express calls these stocks of Soviet equipment - huge, which allow the Russian command not to count losses and conduct military operations far from strategy.
The Russian invaders may believe that the existing stock of armoured vehicles may be enough even for 1-2 years of combat operations," the publication said.
We would like to add that for about two weeks the Russian Federation has been waging a powerful offensive in Avdiivka, trying to encircle the city. At the same time, the Russians are suffering huge losses in equipment and human resources.
