The GUR believes that the Russians will attract the North Koreans to the offensive in Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts

The Russians are attracting mercenaries from Asian and African countries to fight in Ukraine because they have problems with mobilisation.
North Korean troops may be involved in the Russian offensive in Kharkiv Region and Sumy Region. A representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry, Andriy Chernyak, said this in an interview with Japan's NHK.
He emphasised that the losses among the North Koreans on the front are tangible. According to him, the North Korean forces have suffered losses of five thousand people in battles with the Ukrainian army, another six thousand are in Kursk and may be involved in further hostilities.
At the same time, he noted that the Russians have started to use soldiers from the DPRK in a different way.
If earlier they acted in large formations and became targets for Ukrainian artillery and drones, now North Korean troops move in small groups," he said.
Chernyak explained that the language barrier, which could have prevented them from interacting with the Russian military, was not a problem, as they received orders and went on storming without communicating with the Russians.
Chernyak also noted that Russia was considering an offensive in Kharkiv Region and Sumy Region.
