The AFU destroyed the Russian large landing ship Caesar Kunikov on 14 February in the Black Sea. This was reported by the AFU General Staff.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine together with units of the Defence Ministry's GSD destroyed a large landing ship of the occupants - "Caesar Kunikov", - the message reads.
It is noted that at the time of destruction the enemy ship was in the territorial waters of Ukraine near Alupka.
The GSD reported that the Russian ship was destroyed with the help of striking marine drones Magura V5.
The successful mission was carried out by special forces of "Group 13" of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry's GSD. The enemy ship was attacked by Magura V5 attack marine drones off the coast of temporarily occupied Crimea near the town of Alupka, the report said.
The Caesar Kunikov ship received critical breaches on its left side and began to sink.
It is symbolic that the Russian officer, whose name the ship was named after, was killed exactly 81 years ago," the GSD noted.
The large landing ship "Caesar Kunikov" of Project 775 is one of the newest Russian vessels. It accommodates 87 crew members on board. It was used by the Kremlin during wars against Georgia, Syria and Ukraine.
The GSD noted that the occupants' search and rescue operation was unsuccessful.
