Rescue worker killed while clearing Sviatogorsk

Ukraine has become one of the most mined countries in the world.
On Sunday morning, October 23, a rescuer died during the demining of the deoccupied Svyatogorsk in the Donetsk region. This was announced by the head of the Donetsk OVA Pavel Kirilenko.
The head of the OVA explained that during the work of the rescuer, an ammunition detonated, the type of which has not yet been established. No other details of the incident were given.
Kirilenko noted that in the Donetsk region, within the framework of stabilization measures, work is underway to survey and demining the de-occupied territories. He stressed that the territory of the region is heavily mined:
The occupiers have left behind a lot of dangerous "surprises" that can not only harm health, but also take lives - especially of civilians. I appeal to local residents, as well as to everyone who lives in the frontline zone: be as careful and careful as possible. Do not pick up unfamiliar objects from the ground - immediately report such finds to law enforcement officers and rescuers
Previously, experts said that the complete demining of Ukrainian territories could take about 10 years.
