US and European countries discuss supplying fighter jets to Ukraine
13:15, 26.01.2023

Discussing the supply of fighter jets will be even more difficult than arguing about tanks.

This was reported by Politico.

In Europe, many officials and diplomats have said their governments no longer consider the idea useless, but fears of escalation remain high.

Dutch Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra earlier said his government would consider supplying F-16 fighter jets if invited by Kiev.

Slovak Foreign Minister Rastislav Kacher said last month that his government was ready to hand over Soviet-made MiG-29 fighter jets to Kiev and allow other countries to do so.

One of the publication's sources, a Western military official, told Politico:

There is a red line, but last summer there was a red line here along HIMARS and it moved. Then it was battle tanks and that too is moving.
