Serhiy Zhadan mobilises to join the National Guard

Famous writer and musician Serhiy Zhadan will be mobilised into the ranks of the 13th brigade of the National Guard "Charter". This was announced by Serhiy Zhadan himself on 25 March during a telethon.

It seems to me that today there are no writers or not writers, musicians or not musicians. There are citizens of Ukraine, who feel responsible for their country and there are citizens who try to avoid responsibility. The army equalises everyone, because it is the imprint of Ukrainian society," Zhadan said.

Serhiy Zhadan is a popular Ukrainian writer, musician, leader of the group "Zhadan and Dogs" and the project "Mannerheim Line". Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion Serhiy Zhadan has been actively engaged in volunteering.

In 2022, the Committee of Literary Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences nominated Serhiy Zhadan for the Nobel Prize in Literature.
