Oleksandr Fatsevych described the types of mines used by the Russian military to mine Ukrainian territories.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian army, the National Police has set up units for special tasks to support the military. In particular, they are engaged in "mopping up" of populated areas. These units were actively involved in the liberation of Kiev, Kharkiv and Kherson regions.

They are currently recruiting new recruits and setting up bomb disposal units to support them.

The deputy head of the National Police, Oleksandr Fatsevych, told Censor.net about the work of these units.

He spoke about the booby traps left behind by the Russian military and the settlements they destroy.

The Russians have developed a mine clearing system based on the base of the Soviet school, which was actually quite advanced. They use mines with seismic sensors, new booby traps, which we are only now encountering. So our specialists have to learn this too. And when to do it, if we have to work already? That is why we want to create additional groups of mine clearance experts in special units, which could carry out the task of clearing mines in the deoccupied territories and where there is fighting," said Facevich.

According to him, in spring the Russians actively mined the territories of Kyiv region, Chernihiv region, Sumy region and partially Zhytomyr region. They did it during combat operations, in an organized and quick manner.

In the Kharkiv region there was a lot of ammunition that did not explode. But there were also mines with traps. They also actively mined their deployment sites for their own safety. They withdrew, it all remained. And it is all still being demined.

On the other hand, they fled Izyum so quickly that there was no time to systematically mine the area. In the Kherson region, the situation was different - they knew in advance that they would lose and were able to prepare their retreat in advance, leaving mines to slow down the AFU.
