Russia pays soldiers for the war in Ukraine through a bank that did not fall under sanctions

Gazprombank is the only major Russian bank not subject to Western sanctions
The journalists of the publication "Schemes" conducted an investigation. From it it became known that Russian servicemen who are fighting in Ukraine receive payments and “combat” payments through Gazprombank.
Journalists found confirmation of this fact on local forums on Vkontakte and after talking with the wives of servicemen who are fighting in Ukraine.
In addition, back in 2016, Gazprombank in its report announced the issuance of a bank card with the Russian Army logo, and in 2021 informed about the benefits of a salary project for Russian military personnel. That is, this bank is closely connected with the military.
Gazprombank is one of the three largest Russian banks. With regard to Sberbank and VTB, and a dozen other Russian financial institutions, the European Union and the United States have imposed severe sanctions. Only so-called sectoral sanctions were imposed against Gazprombank, which did not have a significant impact on its operations. The accounts of the same bank receive money for Russian energy resources from European countries.
