Russians prepare for another Ukrainian breakthrough at the front
11:45, 18.11.2022

The Russians are preparing fortifications up to 60km inland from the current front line.

This was reported in the 18 November overview of the UK Ministry of Defence on the war in Ukraine.

The British ministry said that after retreating from the right bank of the Dnieper river in Kherson Region, Russian troops were busy preparing defensive lines in most areas along the entire front line in Ukraine.

Units have built new systems of trenches near the admission border with Crimea and near the Seversky Donets between Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. Some of these locations are 60km inland from the current front line, which may indicate preparations by the Russian command in case of another significant break in the front line by the Ukrainians.

Russia is also planning to redeploy some forces to reinforce and expand offensive operations near Bakhmut
