Pro-Russian Marine Le Pen pays respect to Ukrainian people

The leader of the faction of France 's right-wing party "Rassemblement Nationale", Marine Le Pen, has said that Russia's attack on Ukraine provoked a war on the doorstep of the EU. She wrote about it in the social network X.

By invading Ukraine on 24 February 2022, Russia has provoked a war on the doorstep of the EU and a geopolitical crisis that is undoubtedly the most dramatic in the last twenty years. We owe respect and support to the attacked Ukrainian people," Marine Le Pen wrote.

Marine Le Pen is the leader of the extreme right-wing party, the second largest in the French parliament. She is considered a pro-Russian politician for her repeated support for the annexation of Crimea and Kremlin policies.

In 2017, during her election campaign, Marine Le Pen openly declared her friendship with Putin.
