France prepares for high-intensity conflict on the territory of Europe - mass media

France is preparing to fight an enemy that can match her in firepower.
Paris does not rule out a military conflict on the territory of the European Union and has already started preparing the army for a possible clash with the enemy. Politico writes about it.
In particular, the publication refers to Colonel Axel Denis, who said that the fighting in Ukraine has brought full-scale war back to Europe.
He runs a combat training centre in Mayy-le-Camp in eastern France. He added that France is preparing for a culture of vigilance as soon as possible," the publication reported.
As journalists note, the French military is conducting exercises in the closest possible conditions to a real military conflict.
The sound, heat and light of artillery fire are reproduced, "mines" are scattered everywhere, and radio communications are interrupted without warning," Politico reports.
The exercise is taking place over an area of 120 square kilometres, larger than the size of Paris, at a special military training ground.
The exercise involves all units of the French army, namely infantry, armoured vehicles, artillery and engineers, and other branches of the military.
Paris does not say against whom French soldiers are preparing to fight, but, as the publication points out, "the exercises are aimed at preparing troops to fight such an enemy as Russia."
The French military said it has learnt lessons from the Russian-Ukrainian war and is trying to take into account all possible variants of combat. According to French generals, the most important thing in a possible war on the territory of Europe should be the coordination of different units.
