Spanish police have arrested members of a criminal group, whose members robbed Ukrainians who fled to Spain from the war. According to law enforcers, the criminals managed to steal about 1m euros worth of other people's property, The Local reports.
It is reported that the criminal group consisted of a total of 10 people - seven Ukrainians and three Russians.
The suspects specialized in this kind of victims, because they usually bring all their savings and valuables, - said in a statement of the Spanish police.
Preliminary, the attackers broke into seven Ukrainian refugee homes in the eastern provinces of Alicante and Murcia on Spain's Mediterranean coast.
According to the police, the bandits prepared for each organ removal. They followed the victims, including installing trackers on their cars.
The police said that they managed to return some of the stolen goods to their rightful owners. However, the investigation is ongoing and the number of victims may increase.
It is known that Spain has received 160,000 Ukrainian refugees who have been granted temporary protection.
