Poland says what's really behind Trump's desire to end the war

Donald Trump's plans to end the war in Ukraine are causing concern among experts in Central Europe.
Piotr Kulpa, former Polish deputy economy minister and former secretary of the Polish delegation to the NATO PA, has said that Donald Trump's initiatives to end the war between Russia and Ukraine are just a pretext for restoring close relations with Moscow. He said this on the air of Espreso TV channel .
Kulpa emphasised that this is not about a just peace, but an attempt by the Trump administration to "enter into almost benevolent relations with Russia". In his opinion, in this way the US wants to shift the responsibility for the war to Ukraine, making it "a debtor and a loser".
Kulpa also noted that Trump's strategy is based on combining the economy with security issues, and he may sacrifice the interests of Central European countries for the sake of strengthening the US global influence in the region.
According to Donald Trump's logic, the US needs a global thug for the role of global policeman - and this function is fulfilled by Russia.
He added that without such a "bandit" who will scare Europe and keep it in fear, it will be difficult for the US to make it take its side in the global confrontation, where a powerful locomotive - China - is lining up on the other side.
The interests of Central European countries may be sacrificed for the sake of this scenario, he said.
We cannot isolate Ukraine, Poland, the Baltic states or even occupied Belarus, because any division weakens the sovereignty of all of us," Kulpa stressed.
