In the fall, food prices in Ukraine will rise significantly. Particularly bread.

Denys Marchuk, Deputy Chairman of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council, told about this.

In his opinion, the rise in prices was caused by a number of factors: destroyed logistics, an increase in the cost of fuel, and the devaluation of the hryvnia.

Unfortunately, the expert predicts an even greater jump in prices in the fall. After all, one more factor will be added to the already existing price rise factors - energy prices.

Now vegetables are much cheaper than they were in June, because, for example, a large number of cucumbers and tomatoes have appeared from open ground. But in October, the price may rise by 20-30%, because they will be placed in refrigerators powered by electricity. These costs will be included in the price of the final product,” Marchuk said.

Marchuk also believes that bread and bakery products will rise in price in autumn. This will lead to the resumption of agricultural exports in Ukraine, which means that the cost of grain in the domestic market will increase.
