The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has invited Turkish Ambassador Yagmur Ahmet Guldere to express a note of protest. This was reported in the ministry.

Deputy Minister Mykola Tochitsky expressed to the Turkish Ambassador the concern of the Ukrainian side in connection with the available information about the transportation of S-300PMU-2 missile systems by the Sparta II ship chartered by the Russian Ministry of Defense from Syria to Russia through the Bosphorus. The Turkish Embassy was handed a note verbale from the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry on the issue raised, the Foreign Ministry said.

The Deputy Minister expressed his hope that the Turkish side will adhere to its decision of February 28, 2022 to close the Black Sea straits to Russian warships during the Russian-Ukrainian war.

The Turkish side has not yet commented on the situation.
