Servicemen of the National Guard successfully shot down a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) over Kiev during another night attack, using a machine gun. This is reported by the National Guard.
During another air attack of the enemy in Kiev region the National Guard destroyed the enemy drone with accurate fire from a machine gun, - stated in the message of the National Guard.
Thanks to the prompt actions of the military to protect the airspace above the capital it was possible to prevent casualties and destruction.
On the night of 3 November, two air alerts were declared in Kiev, and air defence forces worked on targets that penetrated the capital's airspace. According to the AFU Air Force, Russia fired 96 drones and guided aircraft missiles into Ukraine, of which most were neutralised. The attacks were carried out from the Kursk and Bryansk regions, as well as from Primorsko-Akhtarsk. The defence operation involved anti-aircraft missile troops, aviation, radio electronic warfare (REB) units and mobile fire groups.
According to the latest data, the destruction of a Kh-59/69 missile and 66 enemy drones was confirmed by 09:00 am on 3 November. Air defence also worked in a number of areas including Kyiv, Sumy, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kirovograd, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv. Another 27 drones were lost from radar, one flew to Belarus, and two are still on the move.
