UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace explained his words about the "gratitude of Ukrainians"

The head of the British defence ministry stressed that he would continue to support Ukrainians.
British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace has said on Facebook that his words about supporting Ukraine were partially twisted by journalists and that he remains a staunch ally of Ukraine in the fight against Russian Federation.
I was talking about the need for Ukraine to recognise sometimes that in many countries and in some parliaments there is not as strong support as there is for the UK. It was a comment not about governments but more about citizens and MPs across the international community," Wallace said.
He pointed out that support for Kiev in Britain is very high on the part of almost all political forces and the population of the country. At the same time, he noted that there is a need for messages that will help to reach those Britons who still doubt the correct policy of London towards Kiev.
As for the words about Amazon, Voloes emphasised that such statements were made last year to emphasise that Britain's relations with Ukraine are not "transactional" but rather "partnership".
The head of the Defence Ministry assured that he would personally continue to support Ukraine "until the end, as long as it takes".
