Military experts: mass missile attacks on Ukraine are not related to Surovikin's "style"

Whoever was appointed commander of the Russian forces in Ukraine, these strikes would have taken place anyway.
This is what experts at the American Institute for War Research (ISW) say.
They believe that the massive missile strikes on Ukraine on October 10-11 had nothing at all to do with the style of warfare of the newly appointed commander of the Russian group, Sergei Surovikin.
Apparently, no matter who was appointed commander of the Russian forces, these strikes would have taken place anyway. After all, according to Ukrainian intelligence, they were planned as early as October 2. And Surovikin did not receive his post until October 8.
It is about restoring the image of the Russian Ministry of Defense. After all, criticism of Defense Minister Shoigu and his subordinates has recently appeared in the Russian information space. The blows were aimed at silencing the critics.
Surovikin's appointment will not lead to further "Syrianization" of Russian actions in Ukraine because the combat space in Ukraine is fundamentally different from the combat space in Syria, and direct comparisons to Surovikin's Syrian "style" conceal the fact that Russia is facing completely different challenges in Ukraine, — ISW experts say.
Russia will not be able to repeat what it did in Syria because it has failed to gain air superiority. This deprives it of the massive carpet bombing of Ukraine that it could and did carry out in Syria.
It is worth recalling that Sergey Surovikin himself is known for his brutal aerial bombardments of Syrian cities.
