- How Russia is carrying out cultural genocide in Ukraine's temporarily occupied territories

Russia is destroying Ukrainian culture in the occupied territories and trying to "re-educate" the younger generation through education.
The occupiers are not even hiding it, as they often mention "denazification of education" in their statements. To this end, they have developed four schemes, reports the Institute of Mass Information (IMI).
To implement this, the Russians "recruit" teachers, engage in their "retraining" and "professional development." To spread their beliefs, the occupiers use collaborators or send graduates of Russian pedagogical universities. Student detachments and "humanitarian missions" have been created for this purpose. The Russian authorities are allocating colossal funds for this.
It is worth mentioning that before they started to do this, Russia created so-called "teaching standards" which all teachers had to follow.
Firstly, these are fake pseudo-historical textbooks about the "exploits" of the Russian military and books about Kiev's alleged "crimes" in Donbass. Secondly, there is a total ban on the study of the Ukrainian language and literature or the teaching of these subjects as optional subjects, which de facto means the same thing. Thirdly, the so-called "patriotic" education lessons - "Conversations about Important Things" - which have been introduced in Russia and in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories since 1 September 2022. "Conversations" are a continuation of Russian history lessons, but during them they distort information about contemporary rather than past events," the IMI reported.
As a rule, teachers in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine are recruited with the promise of high salaries. This can be a key factor for educators from the Russian Federation. Since they usually come from different parts of Russia: Dagestan, Udmurtia, Novosibirsk and others.
