Ukraine to spend UAH 17bn confiscated from Russians to rebuild housing

Artur Zayonts
This is money that has been confiscated from Russian banks.
This was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmygal at a government meeting.
This money was confiscated from Russian banks. The amount is about 17bn hryvnyas. And the priority where they will be directed is the destroyed housing.
In the near future we expect to start reconstruction using the funds confiscated from Russian banks - the special account already has 17 billion UAH for this purpose.
Shmygal also said that UAH 35.5 billion were included in the current year's budget for the Fund for Liquidation of Consequences of Armed Aggression to build and repair public buildings, critical infrastructure, and provide housing to IDPs.
