45 servicemen returned from Russian captivity


An exchange of prisoners of war has taken place. 45 Ukrainians were returned home, including two civilians.
This was reported by the head of the presidential office, Andriy Yermak.
An exchange of prisoners of war took place today, 6 July. 45 people were returned from Russian captivity, including soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the National Guard, the State National Security Service and two civilians.
According to Yermak, two officers, 41 privates and sergeants, as well as a civilian employee of Azovstal and a terrorist from Kherson were returned to Ukraine.
We are returning defenders of Mariupol and Azovstal. There are wounded warriors. Also soldiers from Donetsk, including Bakhmut, Zaporizhzhya and Kharkiv directions," Yermak said.
Human Rights Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets added that most of the defenders had severe injuries. All those released from captivity will be provided with necessary medical assistance and, if necessary, psychological and social support, and will be helped to restore their documents. Everyone will have to undergo rehabilitation.
It should be noted that this was the 47th exchange since the start of the full-scale invasion. A total of 2,576 defenders have been returned to Ukraine.
