Fugitive minister Tabachnik's assets seized for more than 2 million dollars

Tabachnyk wanted to keep all the property for himself and signed it over to his relatives. But the SBU exposed the scheme.
This was reported by the press service of the Vinnytsya regional prosecutor's office.
According to the Security Service of Ukraine, the property of former Education and Science Minister Dmytro Tabachnyk has been seized. He is suspected of high treason. Tabachnyk is hiding in Russia-occupied Crimea.
The total amount of the seized assets is over 2m dollars. These are primarily real estate, land plots and money in foreign currency. The seized assets include:
- ½ flat in the historical part of Kiev with an area of 126 sq. m;
- a residential house with an area of over 600 sq. m;
- 5 land plots in an elite cottage community near the capital with a total area of almost 1 hectare;
- a bank account worth 147 thousand dollars.
Tabachnyk wanted to keep all this and transferred it to his relatives. But the SBU exposed the scheme.
It is worth recalling that earlier investigators said that Tabachnyk had been involved in the organization of pseudo-referendums in the seized Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions. The fugitive regional counsels local gauleiter and drafted a memo to the Russian deputy prime minister on providing armed protection to "polling stations".
