Hungarian Prime Minister Orban arrives in Kyiv for peace talks
The most important topic of the meeting between Orban and Zelensky will be talks on the possibility of peace.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who chairs the European Council, arrived in Kyiv on Tuesday morning, 2 June, for talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This is reported by Népszava.
Bertalan Havashi, head of Orban's press service, said that the most important topic of the meeting would be talks on the possibility of achieving peace.
Viktor Orban and Vladimir Zelensky will also discuss current issues of Hungarian-Ukrainian bilateral relations.
In the network appeared a video of Orban's motorcade in the centre of Kyiv.
Earlier The Guardian reported that Viktor Orban will visit Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The publication's source in Budapest said that the meeting was a precondition for resolving the issue of citizenship rights. An agreement has been reached in recent weeks.
This is Orban's first visit to Ukraine in many years. Orban last visited Kyiv in 2012 for meetings with then-President Yanukovych.
Socialportal reported earlier that Viktor Orbán intends to gather Russian sympathisers around him in the European Parliament and "build" a pro-Russian "peace coalition" out of them.
