Budanov, head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, reveals whether there will be an attack from Belarus
Budanov believes that all information about a possible attack from the territory of Belarus is an information operation to sow panic.
According to Kiryl Budanov, head of the SDC of the Ministry of Defense, all talks about a possible attack from Belarus are aimed at sowing panic in the society:
There will be no attack of Ukraine by Belarus now. They absolutely do not want to do so. Everything that is happening in our media space, related to the topic of Belarus, is an echo of the Russian special information operation.
Kirill Budanov believes that the main purpose of this information operation by Russia is to draw away our forces:
The main purpose of this operation is to sow panic among the public. To make us draw back funds from the actual combat operations on the front lines where the actual combat operations are going on. Our offensive is going on. This is the only goal they are trying to achieve.
We shall remind you that Russian Defence Minister Shoygu had earlier flown to Minsk on an emergency basis, where he held a meeting with Lukashenka. Shoygu insisted on a more active involvement of the neighbouring country in military actions on Ukrainian territory, analysts of the Institute for the Study of War(ISW) have said.
