Self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the United States had started to follow his advice given to Donald Trump. He also noted that the Americans and Israelis were gradually withdrawing from the conflict zones, having heeded his recommendations.
Self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the United States had "started to fulfil" his advice to President Donald Trump. Lukashenko said this at the opening of a polyclinic in Minsk.
By the way, the Americans are good, they've started to do what I advised Trump during the last negotiations. I can tell you today. The Israelis came to see him - the Holocaust has been forgotten, the Gaza Strip has been "levelled", children were dying there - and they wanted to urge him to go to war against Iran. He went. What to do now? - lukashenko said.
He said he urged the U.S. to "think about what you will do" after the capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro.
So they took Maduro, what next? They don't know. I told them, "Israel wanted to fight Iran, let it fight Iran. Let him fight, why are you meddling there? You'll bury your people there." And the coffins slowly started going to America [...] So tell Donald: "Let Israel fight Iran, and we'll see what happens". And with other people's hands, we all know how to fight wars. I see that common sense has taken over, they are slowly leaving [...] The Americans have started to leave. I'm sure the Israelis will also realise that they're in the wrong place," said Lukashenko.
In late February, Donald Trump praised Alexander Lukashenko and stressed that bilateral relations between the U.S. and Belarus remained at a high level. Earlier, the American leader, along with his wife Melania, sent a personal letter to Lukashenko, in which he thanked the Belarusian side and the president personally for the gifts. Also, Trump congratulated Lukashenko on Catholic Christmas, celebrated on 25 December.
During Trump's presidency, the U.S. eased a number of sanctions against Belarus.
