From "dad" sneakers to woven sandals: which shoes will go out of fashion in 2024

According to Business Insider, it's worth putting aside six pairs of summer shoes that are losing their trend status.

Brutal army boots, which have long been the centre of attention, are becoming less relevant. Stylist Abby Young advises paying attention to models with a pointed toe and zip, putting army style on the back burner.

"Dad" trainers are also losing their relevance. Despite their popularity among fashionistas thanks to 80s and 90s inspired designs, 2024 favours old-school styles - flat, slim and sleek trainers.

Topsider shoes, although available in a variety of designs and colours, are also giving way. Traditional loafers are now taking centre stage, replacing comfortable topsiders.

Flip-flops, although one of the favourite summer footwear, will not be on trend in 2024. They are recommended to be replaced by the more elegant and versatile mules, perfect with flared trousers and culottes.

Wickersandals, whether made of leather or straw, are losing their relevance due to the return of ballet flats. Stylist Margaret Stone advises replacing wicker shoes with more refined and classic ballet flats for sophisticated looks.

Thesquare toe, the symbol of 2021 thanks to Bottega Veneta's mules, is going away. In 2024, stylists recommend opting for shoes with a pointed or rounded toe for a more modern look.
