First victories over the occupants: 10 years have passed since the battle for the Marinovka checkpoint

The State Border Service recalled the first victories over the occupants, who then lost 16 militants, a Ural vehicle, two KamAZ vehicles and an APC.
Ten years ago, on 5 June 2014, Russian mercenaries from the so-called Vostok battalion attacked the Marinovka border checkpoint in Donetsk Region. The video of the consequences of the battle was shown by the State Border Service.
The enemy forces acted on armoured vehicles, BTR-80 and several trucks protected by armour, had with them and heavy weapons - mortar and large-calibre machine guns - said the border guards.
The mercenaries attacked from the territory of the Russian Federation, bypassing the checkpoint. Border guards of the Donetsk detachment with reinforcement from the motor-manoeuvring group of the training centre of the State Border Service, repelled the attempted assault of the enemy, who prevailed in numbers and weapons. To assist the border guards, Ukrainian tactical aviation struck at the militants.
Having been "kicked in the teeth", the pro-Russian militants abandoned their equipment with weapons and ammunition and fled to the territory of the aggressor country," the border guards said.
As a result of the battle, the occupants lost at least 16 militants, a Ural vehicle, two KamAZ vehicles and an APC.
Five Ukrainian border guards were wounded, while they continued to fight after receiving first aid.
Border guards of the Donetsk detachment, which today has been reformed to a brigade type and named "Gart", not only remember their combat victories, but also continue to destroy the occupants. Now the soldiers of the brigade "Gart" beat the occupants who invaded the north of Kharkiv region.
Earlier Socialportal reported that during the assault battles in Volchansk the soldiers of the brigade "Stalniy Kordon" repelled 4 enemy firing positions, destroyed 6 occupants and took one prisoner, who had been hiding in a house for 21 days.
