European defence chiefs to meet in emergency session


European leaders are rushing to develop new defence plans, given the new realities.
On Monday, 24 February, an emergency meeting of the heads of defence departments of 12 European countries and representatives of the NATO leadership will take place. Finland and Estonia are organising the meeting. The conference will be held online. This is reported by the edition Vloomberg with reference to their sources.
The main topic of the meeting will be further support for Ukraine, - writes the edition.
The defence ministers plan to discuss support for Kiev against the background of the US statements about its reduction, or even full suspension of financial and military aid.

They plan to pay special attention to the "peace talks" of the Trump and Putin teams.

It is pointed out that EU foreign ministers will meet in Brussels on the same day, while European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and a number of other European leaders will visit Kiev.
