Duda tells how grain scandal will affect relations between Poland and Ukraine

The scandal surrounding the ban on the import of Ukrainian grain to Poland will not have a significant impact on the relations between the two countries - Ukraine and Poland, Polish President Andrzej Duda has said. Polish President Andrzej Duda said this, Reuters reported.

He emphasised that the assistance of Poles and Polish entrepreneurs to Ukraine is "a great capital between our countries and peoples", which cannot be destroyed by a legal dispute.

For me, co-operation with and support for Ukraine has a historical dimension. This is not just some event," he said.

We will remind, Poland said that it would prolong the ban on exports of Ukrainian grain despite the decision of the European Commission to cancel these restrictions. In response, Ukraine filed a lawsuit against Poland with the World Trade Organisation. Kiev also threatened to ban imports of certain categories of Polish-made goods.

As a result, Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Mykola Solskyy and Polish Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Robert Telus agreed to find a solution that would suit both sides.
