Czech Republic says when Ukraine may receive the first shells purchased from outside the EU

The Czech Republic plans to buy 800,000 155-mm calibre ammunition for Ukraine abroad.
The first deliveries of 800,000 ammunition purchased outside the European Union may arrive in Ukraine in a few weeks, Czech Deputy Defence Minister Jan Jires said in an interview with Bloomberg. This was announced by Czech Deputy Defence Minister Jan Jires in an interview with Bloomberg.
The Czech initiative is one way "to demonstrate that we are actually doing something, not waiting to see what happens at the Capitol," Jires said.
The Czech Republic acts as an intermediary for governments wanting to finance the purchase of 155mm shells from third countries. Which states would finance the transfer of the ammunition to Ukraine, he did not say. He added that this information would probably be disclosed after the delivery.
Earlier, the Czech Defence Ministry earlier said it had secured preliminary commitments from Canada and Denmark to purchase the shells. The Netherlands has publicly announced its willingness to finance ammunition deliveries to Ukraine. They are ready to allocate 250m euros for this purpose.
We shall remind you that at the Munich Security Conference, Czech President Petr Pavel said that the Czech Republic had found up to 800,000 shells of the standard NATO calibre, which it could send to Ukraine in a few weeks if it received funding for the delivery.
