Britain says how much money will be spent to buy artillery shells for Ukraine

Britain remains one of Ukraine's most active allies in the war against Russian aggression.
The UK is ready to spend 245m pounds (about 280m euros) over 2024 for the purchase and activation of artillery ammunition supply chains for Ukraine. This is reported on the website of the British government.
The document indicates that Ukraine is in dire need of ammunition. In this regard, Britain allocates £ 245 million for the purchase of ammunition and revitalisation of supply chains to provide shells for the needs of the AFU.
Ukraine cannot win the war against Russia without the support of the international community - and that's why we continue to do everything we can to ensure the AFU can fight to victory. Nearly a quarter of a billion pounds of UK funding will boost artillery ammunition stocks, which are critically short," the British government said in a statement.
It said defeating Putin meant a victory for democracy and international order.
The British government also said it had signed a series of million-dollar contracts between the Defence Ministry's procurement agency and the British company Cook Defence Systems to buy hundreds of spare parts to repair Ukrainian tanks and other armoured vehicles.
Earlier, UK Defence Secretary Grant Shapps said that the state would provide Ukraine with 200 Brimstone missiles. The range of Brimstone 2 missiles from an aircraft is 60 kilometres. When the missile is launched from the ground, the range decreases to 10-12 km.
