Conscription age should be from 20 to 50 years old, says MP Roman Kostenko

This statement was made by the secretary of the Defence Parliamentary Committee, MP and current serviceman Roman Kostenko
Ukraine managed to raise the number of mobilised persons by various methods. In particular, when the law was passed, it was immediately possible to recruit more in May than in the previous few months. As of today, the category of persons drafted into the army is age-specific, Roman Kostenko believes .
If we want to normally provide combat units, so that people go healthy and can fulfil combat tasks, it should be the age range of 20-50 years old
According to him, people over 50 years old can mobilise at will, but not in combat units.
At the same time, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence, Fyodor Venyslavskyy, said that the issue of lowering the age of mobilization was not under consideration.
In Ukraine, citizens who have independently expressed their desire to join the military service can do so from the age of 18, they can sign a contract for one year
Conscription age in Ukraine has been reduced from 27 to 25 years. TCKs will now call Ukrainians who have reached the age of 25 to clarify the credentials.
Ukrainian MP Roman Kostenko is also a serviceman and posted a video of him crossing the border with Russia as part of the units conducting an operation in Kursk region
