Budanov said there were problems with Ukrainian Neptun missiles

In the war with Russia, Ukraine's defence companies are constantly in the crosshairs of the occupiers during air attacks.
Ukraine does not have enough industrial capacities to set up serial production of Neptun anti-ship missiles, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, has told The Drive. The head of the Ukrainian Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov, said this in an interview with The Drive.
He specified that it was a domestic development of missiles from the Luch GKKB, which was used to hit the Saki airfield (temporarily occupied Crimea) on the night of 21 September.
Budanov pointed out that specialists continue to work on improving this class of missiles, but it is difficult to do so, as the Russian Federation is constantly shelling Ukrainian defence companies.
Therefore, the situation with the Neptunes can be roughly compared to the ATACMS missiles: it is important not only the availability, but also the number of missiles available for use by Ukrainian troops," Budanov said.
He stressed that in the war with Russia, Ukraine's defence companies - are constantly in the crosshairs during air attacks.
Under such conditions, it is extremely difficult to put Neptun missiles into mass production. This is a difficult and complex task," the head of the GSD pointed out.
It should be noted that the Neptun cruise missile (R-360) is the first Ukrainian missile that can be launched from different types of carriers: coastal complexes, ships or aircraft. The original Neptune missile has a mass of 870 kg, the mass of the warhead is 150 kg; the missile diameter is 380 mm; the maximum launch range is 280 km. The missile's flight altitude range above the crest of waves is from 3 to 10 metres. It has subsonic speed (900 km/h).
