on 21 March, US and Ukrainian delegations held constructive meetings in Florida as part of ongoing mediation efforts to broker a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.

This was reported by Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Whitkoff in the social network X, reports UNIAN.

According to him, the discussions were focused on narrowing down outstanding issues and resolving them to move closer to a comprehensive peace agreement.

The US delegation included special envoy Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, White House senior adviser Josh Grunbaum and State Department senior policy adviser Chris Curran. We welcome continued efforts to address outstanding issues, recognising their importance to overall global stability, and thank [US President] Donald Trump for his continued leadership in advancing these efforts," Whitkoff added.

At the same time, Rustem Umerov, secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, said that he, along with David Arahamiya, Kirill Budanov and Sergey Kislitsa, held a meeting with the US side as part of the negotiation process.

According to Umerov, the sides coordinated positions and agreed to continue discussions on Sunday, 22 March.

They continued discussing key issues and further steps within the negotiation track. Special attention was paid to agreeing on approaches for further progress towards practical results. We reported on the results of the first day of the meeting to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. We thank the United States for its involvement and consistent work to advance the process. We will continue our work tomorrow," he wrote in his Telegram.
