- Budanov: the war will end only if a key condition is fulfilled

The possibility of a truce still exists.
Despite Western media forecasts of a possible ceasefire back in the summer, this did not happen due to the absence of key factors. This was pointed out by the head of the GUR, Kirill Budanov, in an interview with Il Foglio.
He emphasised: a ceasefire is only possible with a simultaneous coincidence of conditions inside Ukraine, Russia and among allied countries influencing global decisions.
Only the exact combination of these elements at the planned moment will yield results. Otherwise, the war will continue," Budanov said.
At the same time, the head of the Ukrainian intelligence service noted that although Russia has military power, it is economically weak, unlike China, which combines military and economic strength.
Earlier, Western mass media reported about possible concessions by Russia for the sake of ending the war, including a partial withdrawal of troops from Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions. In response, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said: there will be no territorial concessions to Russia. He added that a diplomatic settlement was possible, but Moscow kept trying to evade real agreements.
