British intelligence reports heavy Russian army losses near Ugledar

The Russian command wants to make up for the losses with mobilised men.
The Russian military near Ugledar, Donetsk Region, has suffered significant losses, the British Defence Ministry said on Sunday, 26 February, citing its intelligence report.
At the same time, the intelligence showed a satellite image from the Ugledar direction. It shows destroyed Russian equipment, which was probably part of the 155th brigade of marines. This brigade is considered an elite army in Russia.

British Intelligence noted that unlike the airborne infantry, the 155th Brigade was not deployed in Ukraine as a single grouping.
Instead, individual units were attached to groups of troops dominated by ground forces," the report said.
As the scouts note, the Russian marines suffered huge losses near Ugledar, carrying out some of the most difficult tactical tasks.
However, the Russian command has already started replenishing losses with inexperienced mobilisers.
There is a real possibility that units of the 155th Brigade will again be thrown into fresh attacks near Ugledar," the report concludes.
According to British intelligence, there is a real possibility that Russia is preparing for new offensives in the area, despite costly failed attacks in early February and late 2022.
